The one time option, Nitro PDF Classic, is $270.00 per license and covers three years on Windows only. Nitro PDF Plus is quote based. There is no monthly billed option and no genuine perpetual license, which are the two things buyers most often assume are still on the table.

Those two assumptions cost people real money. Nitro restructured its plans on April 1, 2025, and a lot of the pricing you will find in search results still describes the old Nitro Pro and Nitro Pro Business lineup. Below is what the current US storefront actually charges, checked in August 2026, plus the details that decide whether Nitro is the right buy for pulling tables out of PDFs.

How much does Nitro PDF cost?

Nitro sells three PDF plans. Standard is the mainstream subscription, Plus adds enterprise controls and is priced by sales, and Classic is a three year term license for Windows desktops.

Prices are US list, in USD, taken from Nitro's own storefront in August 2026. Nitro geolocates its pricing page, so a visitor outside the US is served a different currency. That is almost certainly where the widely republished "$17.70 per user per month" figure comes from: it looks like a euro price relabeled as dollars. If you see that number quoted, treat it as wrong for the US.

Is there a Nitro PDF perpetual license?

No. Nitro no longer sells a perpetual license. The closest thing is Nitro PDF Classic at $270.00, and Nitro describes it as a one time payment for three years of use, not forever. It is also Windows desktop only, so it excludes the Mac app, the iOS app and the web experience that come with a Standard subscription.

This matters because "Nitro perpetual license" is still a heavily searched phrase and a lot of pages answer it with an old price. One more thing worth flagging: several sites state that Nitro is deactivating existing perpetual licenses on a specific date at the end of 2026. Does Nitro PDF have monthly billing?

No. Every Nitro subscription bought online is billed annually. Nitro's own FAQ puts it plainly: you can buy up to 20 licenses through the website, and all subscriptions are billed annually. Above 20 seats you have to go through sales.

All three plans export PDFs to Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and all three include OCR for scanned documents at no extra charge. That part is genuinely well bundled compared with vendors who sell OCR as an add on.

The catch is the feature that actually matters for table work. Two caveats before you route your whole team through the App Store. Nitro does not document whether the App Store subscription carries the same entitlements as the direct one, particularly the Nitro Admin Portal and any Windows desktop access, so do not assume they are identical. And App Store subscriptions are managed through Apple, which changes how cancellation and invoicing work for a business. The iOS app is separate again, with an annual subscription at $19.99.

Does Nitro PDF have a free trial?

Yes. Nitro offers a 14 day free trial with no credit card required and no features locked. That includes creating, converting, editing, combining, annotating, OCR and securing documents, and the output carries no watermark. It is one of the more generous trials in this category, and it is long enough to run your own worst PDF through it, which is the only test that tells you anything useful.

Use the trial on the documents that actually give you trouble: multi page tables that break across pages, statements with merged header cells, scanned pages at low resolution. A converter that handles a clean single page table tells you nothing.

Does Nitro offer refunds or a money-back guarantee?

Nitro does not advertise a money back guarantee, and this is a point where the marketing language around PDF tools gets loose. Nitro's published refund policy says you may be approved for a refund if the product is proven defective by its technical support team, if an accidental duplicate order was placed at its online store, or if you cancel within 14 days of your initial paid order. It then states that these conditions are guidelines and all refunds are made at Nitro's sole discretion or as otherwise required by law.

Are there volume discounts for Nitro PDF?

Nitro advertises volume discounts on its Plus tier and routes you to sales for them, but it does not publish any tier table. There is no citable "25 seats gets you X percent" number from Nitro or from any reliable third party, so treat any specific discount percentage you see quoted online as invented.
