Wondershare PDFelement costs $79.99 a year for a single platform license, $89.99 a year for the cross-platform plan that adds mobile and web, and $129.99 once for a perpetual PDFelement 13 license, on Wondershare's own US store. Team licenses are $109 per seat a year or $139 per seat once, priced flat from one to ten seats, and anything above ten seats goes to Wondershare's sales team for a volume quote.

Those are the prices you actually pay at checkout. Almost every PDFelement price is shown next to a much larger crossed-out figure, and those anchor prices are not what anyone is charged. Below is what each plan costs, what the team license adds, what the free trial will and will not do, and what PDFelement works out to if the main reason you want it is getting tables out of PDFs and into Excel.

How much does PDFelement cost?

PDFelement is sold in two families for individuals. Single platform covers the desktop app on one operating system. Cross-platform adds the iOS and Android apps and the web version, and raises the bundled cloud storage from 20 GB to 100 GB.

PlanSingle platformCross-platformRenewal
Yearly$79.99 a year$89.99 a yearRenews automatically, cancel any time
2-Year$109.99$119.99Manual renewal
Perpetual (PDFelement 13)$129.99 once$139.99 onceOne-time fee

Single platform prices are from the Windows individuals store and cross-platform prices from the store's cross-platform tab. All figures are US dollars. Every paid plan removes the trial watermark and includes free tech support for the life of the term.

The 2-year plan is the quiet bargain in the lineup. At $109.99 it costs $55 a year, about 31 percent less than paying $79.99 twice, and it does not auto-renew, so nothing is charged when it ends unless you buy again.

What do the crossed-out PDFelement prices mean?

They are anchor prices, not previous prices. The single platform yearly plan is shown as $79.99 next to a struck-through $129. The cross-platform perpetual license is shown as $139.99 next to $695, and the cross-platform 2-year plan as $119.99 next to $510. The store headlines "Up to 79% OFF" on top of that.

Treat the smaller number as the real price. It is what the checkout charges; the banners and countdown timers around it change, the plan price is what gets billed. If you are writing a budget request, put in $79.99 or $89.99 per person per year, not a discounted fraction of $305.

Is PDFelement a one-time purchase?

It can be. The perpetual plan is a one-time payment of $129.99 for single platform or $139.99 for cross-platform, and it licenses PDFelement 13 specifically. Wondershare's store notes that a one-time license includes free minor updates within that version, and that major upgrades may need to be paid for. On the cross-platform perpetual plan, mobile and web access is described as available "for a limited time", so the part you keep forever is the desktop app.

The break-even is short. Perpetual single platform costs $50 more than one year of the subscription and $20 more than the 2-year plan. If you expect to use the same version for more than two years and do not need the next major release on day one, perpetual is the cheapest way to own it.

How much is PDFelement for a team?

Team licenses live on a separate page and are priced per seat with no volume discount up to ten users. These are the checkout totals the store shows for each seat count.

SeatsAnnual planPerpetual plan
1$109 a year$139 once
2$218 a year$278 once
3$327 a year$417 once
5$545 a year$695 once
10$1,090 a year$1,390 once
More than 10Quote from Wondershare sales, described as a bespoke volume discount

A team seat costs $29 a year more than an individual single platform license. What that buys is central license management: provisioning, tracking and reassigning seats across a group. Wondershare's plan comparison also lists integrations, compliance and security options, deployment options, roles and permissions, templates and workflow management, senior tech support and commercial use under the business column. If you are buying for a company, read the license terms before putting staff on individual plans to save the $29.

How much does PDFelement AI cost?

The AI assistant, which summarizes, rewrites, translates, explains and proofreads PDFs, is a separate add-on. The store offers 1,000 AI uses free as a 7-day trial, after which it renews at $39.99 a year for 12,000 uses over twelve months. Paid desktop plans include a small allowance of 50 AI uses on their own. A seat with the AI add-on therefore costs $119.98 a year on single platform and $129.98 on cross-platform.

Is there a free version of PDFelement?

There is a free trial, not a free plan. The unregistered download can create, view, protect and organize PDFs, and it watermarks anything you save. Registering starts a 14-day trial with no credit card that unlocks most features, still with a watermark on saved files. The trial limits matter if you are testing table extraction: Recognize Table can be used three times, batch processing and combining are capped at three files within 20 MB, and OCR shows a preview of its results rather than a finished document.

Wondershare advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee, with refunds approved when the request meets its policy guidelines. Read those guidelines before buying on the assumption that you can return it.

What does PDFelement cost if you mainly need PDF to Excel?

PDFelement is a full PDF editor: editing text, forms, signing, redaction, comparing, OCR and conversion. For someone who needs all of that on one desk, $79.99 a year is a fair price and hard to beat. The calculation changes when the job that keeps coming back is converting bank statements, invoices and reports into spreadsheets, and the editor is mostly used for that one button.

Here is the honest comparison against our own plans, per year, for teams whose main task is PDF to Excel.

TeamPDFelementPDFXLSX
1 person$79.99 a year, single platform$288 a year on Starter, 50 files a month
5 people$545 a year on team seats$588 a year on Plus, up to 5 seats and 500 files a month
12 peopleQuote from sales$1,188 a year on Pro, unlimited seats and files

On license cost alone PDFelement is cheaper for small teams, and we would rather say so than hide it. What the table does not show is the work around each conversion. A desktop editor converts one document at a time on one machine and leaves the checking to you: split tables, merged columns, amounts stored as text, and scans that need a separate OCR pass first. A converter built only for tables runs OCR on scanned PDFs as part of the conversion, puts each table on its own sheet, runs batches of up to 20 PDFs at once, and bills per file, so a 40 page statement costs the same as a one page invoice.

If your team converts a handful of PDFs a month and edits documents the rest of the time, buy PDFelement. If someone spends several hours every month end fixing columns in statements that PDFelement converted, that time is the real line item, and it is the case our PDFelement alternative for PDF to Excel page walks through with the workflows side by side. Once the figures are in a clean workbook, turning the quarterly numbers into a board deck is a separate job that an AI presentation maker that builds slides from your reports handles well.

How does PDFelement pricing compare with Adobe Acrobat, Foxit and ABBYY?

PDFelement sits at the low end of the desktop PDF editors. Foxit PDF Editor pricing starts at $129.99 a year for its standard subscription, and ABBYY FineReader pricing runs $99 a year for Standard and $165 for Corporate, with its automated Hot Folder only on Corporate. Nitro is covered in our Nitro PDF pricing guide. Adobe Acrobat is the most expensive of the group per seat, and the Adobe Acrobat PDF to Excel alternative page covers when its export is worth the premium.

Across all of them the pattern is the same: you pay per person for a general editor, and PDF to Excel is one feature among dozens. That is good value when the editor is the job and poor value when the spreadsheet is.

Is PDFelement worth the price?

For an individual or a small office that edits, signs and fills PDFs every week, yes. At $79.99 a year, or $109.99 for two years, it undercuts Acrobat and Foxit by a wide margin and the feature list is broad. Buy the 2-year plan if you are sure, perpetual if you plan to stay on version 13, and ignore the crossed-out prices.

For a finance or operations team whose recurring task is getting tables out of statements, invoices and reports, price the job rather than the seat. Convert your worst document in the box at the top of this page, compare the sheet with what PDFelement gives you, and check the plans on our pricing page against the hours you spend cleaning up conversions today.
