The short answer

Cometdocs no longer exists as a standalone product. Both cometdocs.com and www.cometdocs.com answer with a 301 permanent redirect to xodo.com, and the old Cometdocs PDF to Excel address redirects to a Xodo URL that returns 404, so there is no direct replacement page to bookmark. Xodo's own PDF to Excel tool lives at xodo.com/pdf-to-excel-converter and is included in its paid plans, which start at $7.99 a month for Xodo Web. If all you need is the table out of a PDF, a converter built only for that job is the closer swap: PDFXLSX takes a PDF and returns clean XLSX or CSV, runs OCR on scans, converts batches, and charges a flat monthly plan rather than metering conversions by the week.

What happened to Cometdocs?

Cometdocs spent years as a well liked, unfussy document converter. It took a PDF and gave you back Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and a long tail of other formats, with a free account capped at a small number of conversions a week and a paid tier that lifted the cap. Plenty of accountants and analysts kept it bookmarked for exactly one task: getting a table out of a PDF.

That bookmark now goes somewhere else. Request cometdocs.com today and the server answers 301 Moved Permanently, pointing at xodo.com. A 301 is not a temporary outage or a DNS glitch; it is the owner telling browsers and search engines that the address has moved for good. Xodo is a broad PDF suite with web, desktop and mobile apps, and the conversion tools were folded into it.

The rough edge is that the redirect is not one to one. The old Cometdocs PDF to Excel address forwards to a matching Xodo path that returns 404, so anyone following an old link, an old bookmark or an old search result lands on a dead page rather than on the tool. What a table focused converter does differently

A PDF has no concept of a cell. It stores characters at coordinates on a page, so rebuilding a grid is a judgment call, not a file format swap.

Column boundaries inferred from layout

A statement that runs to nine pages repeats its column headings on each one. Left alone, those repeats become junk rows in the middle of the data. They are recognized and dropped, which is most of what removing blank rows is usually cleaning up.
