Paying for pages you only need in Excel?

DocuClipper Alternative for Bank Statement and PDF to Excel Billed per File

DocuClipper charges for every page it reads, so a 30 page statement costs thirty times a one page invoice. If your statements, invoices and reports end up in Excel rather than QuickBooks, convert them here instead: one file is one conversion, scanned pages are read automatically, and every table lands on its own sheet.

For bookkeepers, lenders, analysts and finance teams who work in spreadsheets.

The short answer

DocuClipper is an accounting-first extraction tool priced by pages processed: $29 a month for 60 pages up to $899 for 5,000, with unlimited users and direct QuickBooks and Xero sync on every plan. That makes it the better buy when transactions need to land inside accounting software. When the destination is Excel, the page meter is the expensive part: 40 twelve page statements use 480 pages and cost $159 a month on DocuClipper. PDFxlsx bills per file, so the same 40 statements are 40 conversions on the $49 Starter plan, with OCR included and each table on its own sheet.

Why people look for a DocuClipper alternative

DocuClipper is a solid product with a clear focus: get financial documents into QuickBooks, Xero and Sage. Most people who go looking for something else are not unhappy with the extraction. They are paying for a pipeline into accounting software when all they wanted was a clean spreadsheet.

Meter

Long statements eat the quota

Every page counts. A lender pulling twelve months of statements for one borrower can burn through a 300 page Starter plan with a handful of files.

Carry over

Unused pages expire monthly

On monthly billing, pages you did not use are gone at the end of the cycle. Seasonal work forces you to size the plan to your busiest month.

Trial

Export comes with the upgrade

The 14 day trial shows every extracted transaction, but DocuClipper's own FAQ says exporting or syncing happens once you upgrade.

Scope

Built around financial documents

Statements, invoices, receipts, checks and tax forms are the core. Price lists, rent rolls and operating reports are custom template work.

How much does DocuClipper cost?

DocuClipper publishes nine plans in three families, each priced by pages per month. These are the monthly list prices from DocuClipper's own pricing page. The full tier by tier breakdown, including where the ladder stops rewarding volume, is in our DocuClipper pricing guide.

Plan family Pages per month Monthly price Adds
Starter 60, 120 or 300 $29, $39 or $79 Unlimited users, API, Excel, CSV, QBO, IIF, OFX, QFX and QIF exports, QuickBooks and Xero integrations
Business 640, 1,000 or 1,500 $159, $219 or $299 Cash flow and flow of funds analysis, fraud detection, a dedicated processing queue, team management, phone support
Enterprise 2,000, 3,000 or 5,000 $400, $599 or $899 Single sign on, audit logs, IP allowlisting, an SLA and onboarding; above 5,000 pages is a quote

Annual billing is advertised at 30 percent off and releases the whole year of pages upfront. No contracts or setup fees, per DocuClipper's FAQ. Prices in USD; confirm on DocuClipper's site before you buy, because vendors change them without notice.

DocuClipper vs PDFxlsx on five real monthly workloads

A page meter and a file meter price the same work very differently. The shape of your documents decides which one is cheaper, not the size of your firm. Here is what each tool costs on monthly list prices for the same five workloads.

Monthly workload Files Pages DocuClipper plan PDFxlsx plan
45 two page bank statements 45 90 Starter 120, $39 Starter, $49
40 twelve page bank statements 40 480 Business 640, $159 Starter, $49
400 one page vendor invoices 400 400 Business 640, $159 Plus, $99
150 thirty page brokerage statements 150 4,500 Enterprise 5000, $899 Plus, $99
1,500 one page receipts 1,500 1,500 Business 1500, $299 Pro, $199

The first row is where DocuClipper wins, and it wins honestly: short documents at low volume fit its $39 tier, which is cheaper than any of our plans. The gap opens as documents get longer. Forty twelve page statements cost the same on DocuClipper as four hundred one page invoices, because both fit the same 640 page Business tier. On a file meter they are ten times apart. The fourth row is the extreme case: a wealth or lending team converting 150 long brokerage statements a month lands on DocuClipper's $899 Enterprise tier, and on our $99 plan.

Count your pages per file before you compare

Take last month's documents and divide total pages by total files. Under about two pages per file, the two meters are close and features should decide. Above five, a per page plan is charging you mostly for length. Bank and brokerage statements typically sit well above that line, invoices and receipts well below it.

Then count the people who need access

DocuClipper includes unlimited users on every plan. Our Starter plan is one seat and Plus covers up to 5, with unlimited seats on Pro. A ten person firm converting a modest volume of short documents may pay less on DocuClipper, and that is worth checking before switching.

DocuClipper and PDFxlsx side by side

The two tools overlap on bank statements and invoices and then go in different directions. This is the comparison with the places DocuClipper is stronger marked as plainly as ours.

Where DocuClipper is the better buy

If the job ends with transactions imported into QuickBooks or Xero, stay with DocuClipper or something like it. Its QBO and IIF files, direct sync, categorization rules and fraud checks save the step after extraction, which is where most of a bookkeeper's time goes. Unlimited users and SOC 2 Type II also matter to firms with many staff and audited clients.

Where a per file converter wins

If the job ends in Excel, you are paying DocuClipper for an integration you do not use and a meter that punishes long documents. Underwriters spreading statements, analysts pulling tables out of annual reports, and bookkeepers reconciling in a workbook get more from a tool that bills a 40 page file as one conversion and keeps each table on its own sheet.

Who switches, and what they convert

Lenders and underwriters

Twelve to twenty four months of statements per application, spread in Excel. Long files, low file count: the case a file meter was made for.

Bookkeepers who reconcile in Excel

Clients who send statements and credit card statements to convert to Excel for a workbook reconciliation, not a bank feed import.

Wealth and finance teams

Holdings and activity tables when you convert a brokerage statement to Excel, plus operating reports and schedules that no statement parser was built for.

Converting a statement to Excel here

1

Upload the PDF

Drop in a statement, invoice or report. A 40 page file counts once.

2

Every page is read

Digital pages are parsed directly; scanned pages go through OCR before the tables are found.

3

Check the columns

Dates, descriptions and amounts come back in their own columns, with amounts kept numeric so totals add up.

4

Download XLSX or CSV

Open it in Excel, or convert the PDF to CSV if a system downstream expects flat rows.

If your statements do need to reach QuickBooks, the PDF to Excel for QuickBooks page shows the spreadsheet route and its limits. Firms weighing the switch will find the workflows written up for bookkeepers and accountants, and month-end volume is covered on batch PDF to Excel conversion. To automate it from your own system, see the PDF to Excel API.

DocuClipper alternative questions

It depends on where the data goes next. If your statements end up in QuickBooks or Xero as imported transactions, DocuClipper's direct sync and QBO exports are hard to replace and you should compare it with other accounting-first tools. If the data ends up in Excel, for reconciliation, a loan file or a financial model, a converter that bills per file rather than per page usually costs less on long statements.

DocuClipper lists nine monthly plans priced by pages processed: Starter from $29 for 60 pages to $79 for 300, Business from $159 for 640 pages to $299 for 1,500, and Enterprise from $400 for 2,000 pages to $899 for 5,000. Every plan includes unlimited users. Annual billing is advertised at 30 percent off, and volumes above 5,000 pages are quoted.

No. DocuClipper has a 14 day trial with no credit card that processes up to 120 pages, but its own FAQ says exporting or syncing to QuickBooks or Xero comes with upgrading to a paid plan. Our free account converts 3 files and lets you download the XLSX or CSV, with a watermark sheet added until you pick a plan.

One page of any successfully processed PDF counts as one page. A twelve page bank statement uses twelve pages of the monthly quota, a one page invoice uses one. Failed conversions are not counted. Unused pages on monthly billing do not carry over, while annual billing releases the full year of pages upfront.

Yes. DocuClipper exports to Excel and CSV as well as QBO, IIF, OFX, QFX and QIF, and every plan includes direct QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop and Xero integrations. Excel is one output among several, and the product is organized around getting transactions into accounting software.

Yes. PDFxlsx counts files, not pages: a 30 page statement is one conversion, the same as a one page invoice. Plans start at $49 a month for 50 files and $99 for 500, and scanned pages go through OCR in the same upload at no extra cost.

No, and that is one of its genuine strengths. Every DocuClipper plan includes unlimited users with pages pooled across the account. On PDFxlsx the Starter plan is one seat, Plus covers up to 5 team members and Pro is unlimited, so a large firm on a small volume may find DocuClipper's structure cheaper.

DocuClipper states it is SOC 2 Type II certified, encrypts documents in transit and at rest, lets you delete documents at any time, and does not use your documents to train third-party AI models. For regulated work, ask any vendor for the report itself rather than relying on the badge.
