Lido is $29 a month until you need a second user or more than 100 pages. The next plan on its pricing page is $7,000 a year. If your job is getting statements, invoices and reports out of PDFs and into Excel, upload one here: every table comes back on its own sheet, and a 40 page file counts once.

The short answer
Lido is a good AI extraction tool with a pricing gap in the middle. Standard costs $29 a month for 100 pages and one user; the next published plan, Scale, costs $7,000 a year for 42,000 pages and up to 10 users. A small team converting a few hundred multi page PDFs a month lands in that gap. PDFxlsx bills per file instead of per page, starting at $49 a month for 50 files, with $99 a month for 500 files and 5 seats on Plus.
Why teams look for a Lido alternative
Nobody leaves Lido because the extraction is bad. They leave when the bill jumps. Standard is priced for one person with a light month. Add a colleague, or a quarter end with fifty bank statements, and the only listed upgrade is an annual contract twenty times the size.
The bars on the right are the yearly cost of each option, on the same scale. Lido's figures come from its own pricing page; ours from our pricing page.
Yearly cost, list price
Lido counts pages, we count files. A twelve page statement is twelve Lido pages and one PDFxlsx file.
Lido pricing, plan by plan
These are the plans on Lido's own pricing page in US dollars. Lido says it does not charge per page overage; when you run out, you move up a plan.

Lido vs PDFxlsx on five monthly workloads
Each row picks the cheapest listed plan that covers both the page count and the number of people who need access. Lido wins the first two rows outright.
| Monthly workload | Pages | Lido plan | PDFxlsx plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo bookkeeper, 30 one page vendor invoices | 30 | Standard, $29 a month | Starter, $49 a month |
| Solo bookkeeper, 8 twelve page bank statements | 96 | Standard, $29 a month | Starter, $49 a month |
| Solo accountant, 45 twelve page bank statements | 540 | Scale, $7,000 a year (about $583 a month) | Starter, $49 a month |
| AP team of 3, 300 invoices of one or two pages | 420 | Scale, $7,000 a year (about $583 a month) | Plus, $99 a month |
| Finance team of 12, 2,000 files of three pages | 6,000 | Enterprise, quote (from $35,000 a year) | Pro, $199 a month |
Light, solo use favors Lido
One person with thirty invoices a month pays $29 on Lido and $49 with us. If that is your month and it will stay that way, Lido Standard is the cheaper plan, and we would not argue with it.
Long documents favor per file
Forty five twelve page statements are 540 Lido pages, five times the Standard allowance. Here they are 45 files, inside Starter. Brokerage and loan statements run longer still, and the gap widens with every page.
A second user forces Scale
Standard is one seat. A three person AP team with a few hundred invoices goes straight to $7,000 a year on Lido, or $99 a month with 5 seats on our Plus plan.
Lido and PDFxlsx side by side
Lido does more than tables: it pulls named fields with instructions you write and feeds workflows. Where it is stronger, the table says so.
| Question | Lido | PDFxlsx |
|---|---|---|
| Billing unit | Pages, as a monthly or yearly allowance | Files; a long PDF counts once |
| Entry plan | $29 a month, 100 pages, 1 user | $49 a month, 50 files, 1 seat |
| First plan for a team | Scale, $7,000 a year, up to 10 users | Plus, $99 a month, up to 5 seats; Pro $199 unlimited seats |
| Contract | Standard monthly; Scale and Enterprise yearly | Monthly on every plan, yearly optional |
| API | From Scale | On Pro, $199 a month |
| Named fields and custom instructions | Yes, AI column rules and extraction instructions per document type | No; tables come out as printed, one sheet per table |
| Email intake and ERP | Email auto forwarding; custom ERP integrations on Enterprise | Upload in the browser, batches of up to 20 files, or the API |
| Scanned PDFs | Yes, scans, photos and handwriting | Yes, OCR runs on pages without a text layer |
| Compliance paperwork | States HIPAA compliance and SOC 2 Type 2, BAA on Enterprise | No BAA; see our privacy policy for file handling |
| Try before paying | 50 pages, no card, no expiry | 3 whole files on a free account, downloadable with a watermark sheet |
When Lido is the better buy
You are one person under 100 pages a month, or you need named fields pulled from varied layouts into an ERP, or you handle health records and need a BAA. Lido's Scale and Enterprise plans are built for that kind of workflow, and its free 50 pages are generous for a test.
When PDFxlsx is the better buy
Your documents are long, your team is two to twelve people, and the output you want is the tables themselves in Excel. Paying per file on a monthly plan keeps a small team off a $7,000 annual contract it would use a fraction of.
Who switches from Lido, and what they convert
Bookkeepers with statement heavy months
Client bank statements run ten to thirty pages each, so a page allowance empties fast. See how statements come out on bank statement PDF to Excel.
Small AP teams
Two or three clerks checking invoice lines against POs need shared access more than field training. The workflow is on convert invoice PDF to Excel.
Developers who need an API now
API access on Lido starts at Scale. Ours is on Pro at $199 a month; the endpoints are on the PDF to Excel API page.
Moving a monthly routine off Lido
Pick last month's worst file
The longest statement or messiest report is the fairest test.
Upload it above
Digital pages are parsed directly; scanned pages go through OCR first.
Compare with the Lido export
Check row counts, dates and totals. Amounts stay numeric, so a SUM tells you fast.
Choose a plan by files
Count files, not pages, and invite the team. Batches of up to 20 files run on Plus and Pro.

Lido pricing and alternative questions
Lido lists three plans. Standard is $29 a month for 100 pages a month and one user. Scale is $7,000 a year for 42,000 pages a year, up to 10 users and API access. Enterprise starts at $35,000 a year on the plan card (the FAQ on the same page says $30,000) with custom page limits and ERP integrations.
Lido gives 50 free pages with no credit card, and those pages do not expire. After that you need a paid plan. The free pages are enough to test a few statements or invoices, but not to run a monthly close on, so the real question is which paid plan your volume and team size land on.
Lido says it does not bill per page overage. When you need more than the 100 pages a month on Standard, you upgrade, and the next listed plan is Scale at $7,000 a year. There is no published plan between them, which is the main reason small teams look for an alternative.
Yes. Lido extracts data from PDFs, scans and photos and exports it to Excel or CSV, and you can guide the extraction with instructions and column rules. PDFxlsx does the same core job for tables: each table in the PDF becomes a sheet in an XLSX file, or a CSV, with OCR on scanned pages.
Look for a plan that covers several seats and a few hundred documents without an annual contract. On PDFxlsx, Plus is $99 a month for 500 files and up to 5 seats, and a 40 page statement counts as one file. On Lido, the same team would need Scale, because Standard has one user.
Per page. Every Lido plan is a page allowance: 100 pages a month on Standard and 42,000 pages a year on Scale. A twelve page bank statement uses twelve pages. PDFxlsx counts files instead, so the same statement is one conversion whatever its length.
Yes, but the pricing page lists API and workflow access on the Scale plan at $7,000 a year, not on Standard. PDFxlsx includes a REST API on the Pro plan at $199 a month with unlimited conversions: upload a PDF, poll one status endpoint, then download XLSX or CSV.
Lido says it is HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 Type 2 certified, and offers a signed Business Associate Agreement on Enterprise plans. If you process protected health information and need a BAA, that is a real reason to stay with Lido Enterprise rather than switch to a general PDF to Excel converter.
